Overview
To schedule a session with a coach or therapist, you may do so in the Modern Health web or mobile app. Please note you can only connect with up to two coaches and two therapists and you can change or remove providers in the app. Your Modern Health benefit can only be used with providers in our network.
Q: How do I schedule a session with a coach?
A: If you are interested in connecting with a coach, please select Work with a coach under Your 1:1 Care section on the home page of the Modern Health web or mobile app (iOS / Android).
Note: You may connect with two coaches at a time in your app.
Q: How do I schedule a session with a therapist?
A: If you are interested in connecting with a therapist, please visit the Explore more care options page on your app or submit a request at the top right of the browser and our Care Team will assist you.
Q: How do I change providers in the web or mobile app?
A: To change or remove a provider in the web app, please follow these steps:
Log into the Modern Health app.
From the home screen, select Manage Care Team.
Tap the ellipsis icon next to your chosen provider and, depending on your preference, tap Change provider or Remove from care team.

Log into the Modern Health app.
From the home screen, tap Your 1:1 Care.
Select the provider in mind.
Tap the ellipsis icon next to your chosen provider and, depending on your preference, tap Change provider or Remove from care team.
Q: Can I match with more than one provider at a time?
A: Modern Health's app can actively support up to two coaches and two therapists (one therapist for individual and one therapist for couples counseling/family) per member. If you would like to inquire about matching with an additional provider, please submit a request at the top right of the browser and our Care Team will assist you.
Note: Sessions with the same type of provider will pull from the same allotment pool (for example, if you work with a leadership coach and a mental health coach, they will be pulled from the same pool of sessions), so you will need to discuss this with your providers to determine how you want to allocate your sessions.
Q: I already have a therapist outside of Modern Health. Can I use my benefit with them?
A: Please note that your Modern Health benefit may only be used with the providers in our network. If your provider is in our network, please reach out to us at help@modernhealth.com to get connected to them.
Q: Can I match to a specific provider?
A: If there is a Modern Health provider who you would like to work with and you aren't seeing them in your app, please reach out to us at help@modernhealth.com to get connected to them.

Q: Can I search for a therapist?
A: The Modern Health platform does not have a provider search function. We also do not provide a full 'Directory' of in-network providers. This is the standard across EAP and healthcare networks, which is why we have a team of provider network experts to help find an appropriate provider for you.
If you would like to be matched with a specific provider who is not appearing in the listed providers in your app, you can reach out to us directly at help@modernhealth.com and we can add the provider to your Care Team. You can also submit a request at the top right of your browser and we can assist you.
