Overview
Modern Health offers therapy for individuals, families, and couples. You can only match with one therapist at a time through the app, however if you need a second therapist you may submit a request and our Care Team will assist you.
Matching
You can match with a provider who offers family or couples therapy directly in your app. More information on therapy matching can be found here.
Our current app capabilities allow members to match to one therapist at a time, so if you are already working with an individual therapist and would like to be connected to a second therapist for family or couples counseling, you can either:
- Submit a request and our Care Team will manually match you with a second therapist who suits your needs. When submitting your request, we kindly ask that you share the location(s) of all parties who will be attending the sessions.
- Change your current therapist and match with a new therapist (note: doing this will unmatch you from your original therapist)
Session Usage
Therapy sessions pull from the same benefit allotment pool, so if you are working with two providers under your account (i.e. one for individual therapy and one for couples/family therapy) you will need to work with your providers to determine how you want to allocate your sessions. If your employer offers dependent coverage, it may also be an option to use your dependent's allotment towards group sessions - you can use your partner's sessions for couples therapy (with their consent) or your child's sessions for family therapy (the child must be involved).
