Scheduling, Rescheduling, and Canceling Sessions

Overview

You may schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel sessions using the Modern Health website or app. If your provider schedules sessions outside of the app, please reach out to your provider via the Messages feature or email. If a session is canceled without notice, please contact your provider or our Care Team for more information.

Scheduling

To schedule a session with your provider, access the scheduling tool from the homepage of your dashboard. You can begin the process by logging into your iOS app or Android app and selecting Book Session from the home screen.

Once you've selected a provider, available days and times will populate. If you do not see a time that works for you, you can select another day to view additional availability. Once you find a time slot that works for you, select Continue to confirm the session.

On the confirmation page, you will also have the option to add the session to your calendar and review our cancellation policy.

Confirming

To help you stay on track with upcoming sessions, reminder emails may be sent 48 hours before your scheduled session. From these reminders, you may be able to confirm or reschedule your session directly without penalty, depending on your provider’s cancellation policy.

You can also confirm a session at any time through the Your Schedule section in the Modern Health app or website.

Rescheduling

If you need to reschedule a session, you can do so directly through the Modern Health app or website. Navigate to the Your Schedule section on your home page, select the intended session, and choose the reschedule option.

If you need to miss a scheduled session, please reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours before your session. If you cancel after that time or miss the session, it may count toward your total covered sessions or result in a fee. Please note that some therapists may require 48 hours’ notice and will clarify their cancellation policy before your first session.

Canceling

If you need to cancel a session, log into the web or mobile app (iOS / Android), navigate to the Your Schedule section, select the intended session, and choose the cancellation option.

My session was canceled, but I didn't cancel it. What can I do?

Suppose you notice your session was canceled without notice. You can inquire about the cancellation and reschedule a more convenient time and date via the Messages feature or your provider's email. If you are not receiving a response or the cancellation was a technical error, as a next step, please reach out to our Care Team via help@modernhealth.com, and we can assist further.

What if my provider handles scheduling outside the Modern Health app?

Suppose you need to cancel an appointment and your provider schedules sessions with you outside of the app. In that case, we kindly ask that you let your provider know via the Messages feature or email. If you don't have access to your provider's email, please reach out to our Care Team via help@modernhealth.com, and we can share it with you.

Web App

  1. From the home screen, select the intended session under the Your Schedule section

    *If the intended session is not listed on your home screen, click on View all sessions to see all of your scheduled sessions and select the intended session from there*

  2. Click Cancel session

  3. You will be prompted to review our Cancellation Policy. To proceed, click Cancel session.

Mobile App

  1. From the home screen, tap on the intended session under the Your schedule section
